Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Declutter It (the "Service"), operated by Declutter It ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Declutter It lets you upload a photo of a room and generates, using third-party AI models, an illustrative "tidied-up" preview image and a step-by-step decluttering checklist tailored to what's visible in your photo.

AI-generated content is illustrative only. Preview images are AI approximations of what your space could look like — not a guarantee, architectural plan, or professional design service. Checklists are AI-generated suggestions and should be used as a starting point, not professional organizing, moving, safety, or structural advice.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have a parent/guardian's permission if your local law requires a higher age of consent. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away at hello@declutter-it.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Plans and billing

Declutter It offers a Free plan with limited usage, and paid plans (currently Plus and Pro) with higher monthly limits, billed on a recurring monthly basis at the price shown on our Pricing page at the time of purchase. Where payment processing is enabled, it is handled by a third-party payment processor (e.g. Stripe) under its own terms; we do not store your full card details.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We may change plan pricing or limits going forward, with reasonable notice before it affects you.
  • Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos you upload and the content you create through the Service. By uploading a photo, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it (and the AI-generated images/checklists derived from it) back to you, solely to provide the Service to you.

You're responsible for what you upload. You agree not to upload photos that:

  • You don't have the right to share (e.g. someone else's home without permission);
  • Identify other people without their consent;
  • Contain illegal, harmful, or sexually explicit content; or
  • Infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, reverse-engineering it, using it to generate unlawful content, or exceeding your plan's usage limits through abusive or automated means.

6. Our intellectual property

The Declutter It name, branding, website, and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our branding or underlying technology beyond what's needed to use the Service as intended.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee that AI-generated previews or checklists will be accurate, complete, achievable, or suitable for your specific space, and we don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Declutter It will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or €10 if you're on the Free plan). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we'll give reasonable notice where practical.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or via a notice on the site before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

Declutter It is operated from Norway. These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
